中国のレアアース（希土類）輸出総額が、２０１２年に９億６００万ドル（約８００億円）と前年を６６％も下回っていたことが、香港の中国税関統計情報センターの調べで分かった。
２３日付の中国紙、環球時報（英語版）が伝えた。
１２年の輸出総量が減少したことに加え、国際価格の下落が影響した。

中国にとって最大の輸出先だった日本が代替技術の開発や調達先の多様化を図り、中国産の
輸入を絞った。貿易業界関係者によると国際価格で昨年、最大８０％近い安値をつけた品種もあるという。
１２年の中国のレアアース輸出量は前年比３・５％減の１万６２６５トン。
過去には０２年に５万９千トン、０３年に７万４千トンと輸出のピークを迎えた。

だが、１０年に起きた中国漁船衝突事件で中国が対日輸出規制を行ったことで、１１年には前年実績の半分以下の１万７千トン前後にとどまっていた。

レアアースはスマートフォン（多機能携帯電話）などハイテク製品の製造に欠かせない材料。
１０年まで世界市場の９０％以上のシェアを握り、レアアースを戦略資源と位置付けて外交カードに使ってきた中国は、今後、資源戦略の転換を迫られそうだ。

私は中国人との貿易を長年やっているが、中国人にとってはいつものやり方である。
我等がある中国製品が日本でどんどん売れ出すと段階的に価格を吊り上げてくる。
大量注文でもすれば量的値下げどころか量的値上げである。日本で売れていれば別に
お前さんばかりに売る必要はない。嫌ならほか絵廻すだけだ。との言い草だ。
現にどんどん日本国内に供給して、その果てには日本人が飽きて見抜きもしなくなり
その商品の値段は大暴落。商品を息長く販売しようとする販売戦略は中国人にはまったく無い。
売れる時に売れればそれで良いの感覚である。だから私から言えばレアアースが
今、売れなくなっても以前に儲かっているから構わない。それが中国人だ。
「それ見た事か」の日本人的感覚は彼らには有りません。
